Operations - Unit 7
As of February 20, 2011, Unit 7 has been retired as a licensed ambulance and now serves as our Mass Casualty Incident Response Unit. It is a 2000 Road Rescue body mounted on a 2000 Ford E-350 chassis. It is 90” wide and has a 12’ long patient compartment. It has a payload of about 1000 lb. The curb weight is 8600 lb. The GVWR is 9600 lb, so it is significantly lighter than Unit 8. It is powered though a more conventional dual-alternator dual-battery system, as opposed to 8’s dual-alternator, dual-battery failsafe with a gen-set as primary power.
